HOME PROTECTION

PRICELESS
PROTECTION FOR
YOUR FAMILY

Most homeowners invest in alarms, cameras, and smart security systems. But what happens when someone gets past those defenses? Physical barriers deserve a place in any serious home protection plan.

Most homeowners already take steps to protect their homes. We lock the doors, install cameras, add exterior lighting, and increasingly rely on alarms and smart security systems to tell us when something isn't right. These measures can all play an important role in home security, but there is a fundamental difference between detecting someone attempting to enter your home and physically preventing that person from getting inside. When you're thinking seriously about protecting your family, both deserve consideration.

WHEN HOME SECURITY BECOMES PHYSICAL

Modern security technology can provide homeowners with information almost instantly. Cameras can show someone approaching the house, motion sensors can detect activity, and alarm systems can alert homeowners or monitoring services when a potential intrusion occurs. But once someone begins attempting to force their way inside, the physical construction of the home becomes part of the security system. At that point, the strength of the door, frame, hardware, and locking system can become just as important as the technology monitoring them.

That is particularly true of residential doors because they serve two very different purposes. Every day, they need to provide convenient access to the home. During an attempted forced entry, however, that same doorway becomes a physical barrier between the people inside and the threat outside. Conventional residential doors are primarily designed for everyday use. Homeowners looking for a higher level of protection may want that barrier to do considerably more.

A STRONGER BARRIER FOR YOUR FAMILY

Garrison's Residential Grade Security Door was developed to provide a stronger physical barrier while maintaining the appearance and everyday function of a traditional residential door. Its construction combines UL Level 3 rated ballistic fiberglass material with a purpose-built locking system and reinforced wood jamb featuring dual steel strike plates. It can be installed at an exterior or interior location and can also be used to help create a more secure bedroom, closet, bathroom, or other space intended to serve as a residential panic room or safe room.

A reinforced security door isn't intended to replace cameras, alarms, lighting, or the other measures homeowners already use. It addresses a different part of the problem. Technology can help you know that something is happening. Physical security can help strengthen the barrier someone must overcome to reach the people inside.

No security product can eliminate every risk, and protecting a family isn't about trying to prepare for every imaginable scenario. It's about understanding where a home may be vulnerable and deciding which layers of protection make sense. For many homeowners, the value of a stronger security door ultimately comes down to something difficult to measure: knowing there is a more substantial barrier between the people they love and whatever may be on the other side of it.
