Meet David Olsen, the designer of The Garrison Door

The creation of The Guardian Door’s locking mechanism came by way of experience. As a former Navy SEAL, David’s naval education in the science of “breaching” led him to the design of the unique lock and door combination. David joined SEAL Team One in 2001, and after completing his first deployment he was offered entrance into a school for “breaching”. The experience that was gained in breaching school taught the SEALs how to break through barriers placed in the way of fellow operators. Steel doors, giant gates, metal cages, locks, 15-foot high walls, fences, windows, steel panels, ballistic material, you name it; if it stopped the flow of the assault, it was handled by the breacher.

The SEAL Breachers would use creative ways to build entry problems for one another. Ways to stop entry using steel, wood, plastic in varying configurations. This thinking was at the core of the solution when David left the Teams and became a homeowner, and like countless others, had his house broken into.

“I am a trusting person, yet we locked our doors as any normal person does. One night we came home to find our door kicked in and the sanctuary of our home desecrated. We had very few items of value, but that didn’t stop the thieves from destroying property while they looked for money, weapons, or jewelry. At the time we had a dead-bolt lock, a 1-inch bolt that was kicked right through the wood frame: the strike plate was found on the floor, probably one kick; easy entry. Personal possessions are one thing; my family’s safety is another. What if they had been home? What if those horrendous 6-o’clock news stories came to life at my home?”

The Garrison Door was created through the knowledge and experience that David obtained as a Navy SEAL breacher. These doors are designed to blend into the decor of your home while offering unmatched security—security without the hassles of having to reinforce your walls and floors (due to the weight of some other doors at 1000lbs+). The door has the beauty of real wood and, at the same time, the security of stainless steel protecting you against kicking, smashing, shooting off the hinges, sledging, pulling, or cutting this door apart.

The Garrison Door creates a wall of protection out of any entryway in your home or office. The Citadel Series for your bedroom lets you sleep securely. Install it in a bathroom or closet to create a safe-like room. Use the Vault Series to lock up an entire room with a key when you travel or use it on a second or third home. We offer you the ability to keep a sanctuary. Don’t worry when you travel and your family is at home without you. Don’t worry when you hear bumps in the night.

Residential

This door is the best residential security/safety door on the market for your residence.  We started with UL-rated ballistic panels. This door has been engineered to do what no other door has been able to do.

Commercial/Office

We added extra layers of Kevlar to go above the UL-rated ballistic panels.  We stop the bullet in the first ¾ of the door stopping any energy from affecting the surface of the interior surface of the door skin.

Military/School

All our engineering capabilities went into this door.  Above and beyond anything on the market.  Layers upon layers of different materials allow us to test for forced entry, ballistic, sound, and fire rating.
